“Art rediscovers, generation by generation, what is necessary to humanness.”- John Gardner

I like the beautiful things in life, the little details, the overlooked perfections.

I started blogging during a perfect year in Paris, so that my family could keep up with my life.

Then I continued when I moved back to Kentucky because it is kind of nice to release little bits of life out to the people that I love who are scattered around the country and world. This past year I moved to Washington, DC, and agreed to marry the very best of men.  My relationship  with our nation’s capital is one of aggravation and affection, somedays more one than the other.

These are (sometimes) artistic reflections from someone who would love to wander museums all day and think about art, puts her hair in curlers, and goes to graduate school and teaches French part time.  Which luckily still gives me time to walk around and think about beautiful things.

But in this every day life, there is still art.  It is in the minute details, the colors, the forms, and the light all around us.  It is in life, and mine is the joy of finding it.

Perfect. And I love that quote. I have it written down in numerous places. I was just thinking today that I really wanted you to start blogging again. I am ever so pleased!
